Services-

Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy refers to hands on treatment that can include a number of different techniques including joint mobilizations/manipulations, soft tissue work, manual stretch, fascial mobilizations, and neural flossing.

These techniques help to increase the range of motion in your muscles and joints and help to decrease your pain.

IMS or Dry Needling

Dry needling is a treatment technique where a very thin (acupuncture) needle is inserted into a myofascial trigger point (commonly called a “knot”) to help it relax or release. This allows the muscle to function better as it is no longer in a shortened state. Evidence demonstrates that after dry needling there is increased range of motion, muscle activation, and decreased pain!

Medical Acupuncture

Acupuncture has been practiced in China for thousands of years. Needle like stones have been found establishing roots back to the Stone Age! Physiotherapists generally use acupuncture to help decreased pain and inflammation, but it can also help to increase energy, decrease muscle tone, stimulate nerves and balance out the nervous system.

Cupping

Just like acupuncture, cupping has been around for thousands of years! The treatment consists of placing suction through cups on the body. This draws skin into the cup and causes blood vessels to expand and may facilitate healing due to the increased blood flow. The cups can be glided across the skin to help lift and separate tissue. The idea is to help increase pliability of tissue. Cupping is used to help with blood flow, pain, and inflammation.

Exercise Prescription

Exercise prescription involves developing a program that is specific to an individual’s treatment goals and/or injury. Some people’s main goal is to not get the same injury again. Some people want to do heavy lifting or high impact activities. Some people just want to improve their posture or core strength as a preventative measure. Exercise prescription helps tailor exercises to meet your specific needs.

Ultrasound is also on site.
